Presidents Update Fall 2009

Welcome to the 2009 - 2010 Racing Season!

The Brimacombe Racing Program is for youth between the ages of 7–19 years of age.
Our program runs out of “Brimacombe” Home of the Oshawa Ski Club.

Once again, we are very happy to announce NO FEE INCREASE for registration. Through careful management of our money, fundraising from Alpine Ontario, generous financial support from the Oshawa Ski Club and lots of volunteer hours we have kept a healthy bottom line.

Brimacombe Racing will once again have a non travelling Home Development team, Skiis and Bikes Nancy Greene, Swiss Chalet K1 and K2 and the Miele J series. There is also a travelling Snowboard race team, the Lowriders.

We have been getting an early start on the season by having a camp at Tremblant which gets more popular every year. Tremblant Mini Camp will run December 3rd – 6th, 2009. We will be staying at “The Sommet Des Neiges” which is located at the base of the Gondola. This mini camp is for K1, K2 and J Racers only. For more information please contact Connie O’Malley, bcomalley@rogers.com

Our official season always starts with Christmas camp beginning Boxing Day. This camp runs from December 26th – 30th, weather permitting. The camp runs from 9:00 – 3:00 every day. Our regular season will commence January 2nd/3rd weekend and runs every Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 – 12:00 until the end of February.

Helmet rules will be strictly enforced this year. All racers MUST have a full helmet with hard sides, front and back. No short helmets, no half helmets, no park or snowboard helmets. It must be a full helmet. No exceptions!

Registration forms can be printed on line. Go to the Registration link, print and fill out the forms. Completed forms must then be mailed to Connie O’Malley. Registration forms and waivers must be completed in full and accompanied by a cheque payable to the Oshawa Snow Racing Club to be processed. Registration will be accepted on a first come first served basis, up until October 31, 2009. Priority will be given to those who raced with Brimacombe Racing last season. New applicants will be considered to fill vacancies after that date. Registration should be completed as soon as possible. The final deadline for registration is November 15, 2009. There will be a $25 service fee for any NSF cheques. Late applications may be accepted only if there is a need to fill a team and only at the discretion of the registrar. A 10% late registration fee will apply. A photocopy of the racer’s birth certificate is required with registration as well as your OSC membership number on the registration form if not already given in previous years.

Our program runs as well as it does and as cheaply as it does because of the parents and volunteers so if you are interested in helping, please contact us. We can always use help so please ask what you can do.
